If you’re wondering whether your child needs extra support, you’re in the right place. Early Intervention is a free, state-funded program that supports babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.
What is Early Intervention?
Early Intervention (EI) is a federally mandated, state-funded program that provides free developmental services to eligible children from birth through age 5 who may benefit from extra support.
If your child shows delays or differences in communication, movement, play, learning, or self-care, EI can help. And if your child qualifies, you can choose Small Talk Therapeutics at no cost to your family.

Step 1: Make Your First Call
No referral needed—anyone can call.

Just say: “I’d like to start the Early Intervention evaluation process.”
Step 2: Meet Your Coordinator
You’ll be connected with a service coordinator who:
• Learns about your child
• Answers all your questions
• Schedules your evaluation
This first meeting usually happens right at home.
Step 3: Your Child’s Evaluation
A licensed evaluation team gently observes how your child:
• Plays
• Moves
• Communicates
• Grows
This evaluation is always free, even if your child doesn’t qualify.
Step 4: Choose Small Talk
If your child qualifies, you have the right to choose your provider.
• Request Small Talk Therapeutics by name
• Services provided at absolutely no cost to you
• We come to your home, school or daycare
• Work with consistent caring therapists who know your child
Already with Elwyn?
Elwyn provides free services for children ages 3 to 5 in Philadelphia. If your child qualifies, you can choose Small Talk as your provider at no cost.
Email your Elwyn coordinator, let them know you'd like Small Talk as your provider, and ask them to copy elwyn@clubsmalltalk.com so we can coordinate directly.
