  • "In short, Small Talk was a game changer! My 20 month old is not in daycare and I am always searching for opportunities for socialization. When I came across Small Talk, I wasn’t sure what it might be like. I was also nervous about committing and paying for a full semester. But, BEST MONEY EVER SPENT. My son learned so many signs and is able to communicate with us so much more. He really enjoyed going to class each week seeing Ms. Allison, Ms. Bridget, & Ms. Sylwia and developed strong bonds with them as well as the children. These women also taught me how to better communicate with my son and follow his lead through playing and reading, which allowed him to communicate with us even more. He’s such a talker, now! I have no doubt that we owe Small Talk for so much of it! This isn’t the end-join me for the next Small Talk adventure! An investment into your child’s development, such as this one, is always a win. • “From their group classes to individualized evaluations, our experiences with Club Small Talk have been nothing short of wonderful! While we have attended their classes (which are so informative and a lot of fun!), I wanted to specifically highlight our experience with Allison and the at home language evaluation she did for our 2 year old son this year. We first reached out to Club Small Talk seeking a second opinion on an evaluation we had completed for our son’s language delay which had left us feeling discouraged and devastated. The moment Allison entered our home, I immediately felt a difference in her approach - and our son did too! From her child led and connection-focused interactions with our son to her strength based language in the final report, she left me feeling empowered and capable of supporting our son through his language delay. She even identified our son as a GLP which was a game changer for our mindset and approach to teaching him language. Allison and her colleagues at Club Small Talk were our first experience with neurodiversity affirming providers and since meeting them, we have learned that our son is autistic. I am not only grateful for their expertise in their field, but also the way they helped me learn how to seek out neurodiversity affirming therapists who align with my values as the parent of an autistic child.”

  • "Club Small Talk was easily the highlight to both me and my daughters week. Being a stay at home mom, it gave me an outlet to be around other moms and it gave my little one a chance to roam free and truly explore her environment. The instructors were phenomenal and we looked forward to seeing them every week and all the things they had planned for us to do. Every Thursday since class ended I still continue to sing the songs we learned to my little one and she is beginning to do gestures and truly gets super excited everytime. She is also sharing very well .. I think the cookie jar song may be working. I would highly recommend this class and I look forward to taking more in the future"

  • “We are always looking for new things to do with our son to get out of the house. Stumbling upon this class was the best thing that happened to us! We loved that our son could get messy without us having the mess at home! We immediately signed up for a semester!”

  • “My son goes to the class with his nanny. My husband and I were worried about his speech because he seemed to be a little slower at getting it than the other kids in his age group. However, once we started doing weekly Small Talk classes we noticed he started using more words. He always knew lots of signs and used those but now at 22 months there is so much word use happening. And I can tell he likes the class. He gets excited every Thursday when we tell him he has a class to go to. We cannot wait for the fall semester to start! The teachers are amazing and super supportive. I’m so happy we found out about Small Talk and I recommend it to anyone that’s looking for a group based speech class. Even if you have a talker it’s still amazing just due to the activities and the information they provide.”

  • "Up to this point, my daughter's favorite activities have been the library story time and music class. Small Talk is perfect for her in that it combines the best elements of both of those things, plus sensory activities that I've always wanted to do but lack the bandwidth and materials to execute at home. My daughter is only 15 months old, but we've been a bit worried about her speech and were hoping to facilitate more play time with other kids. This class seemed too good to be true! I work in education research, so I have a huge appreciation for evidence-based practices. That said, it's really exhausting to try to become an "expert" in all the kid things (sleep, feeding, play, behavior, speech...). I'm so grateful to have access to your team's expertise so we can better support my daughter and her speech development in the coming months/years!"

  • “I don’t really have any concerns for my daughter's speech, but we feel she has been stuck at home for a lot of the pandemic, so we gave it a try. I was surprised by how much I learned about play during this class! My daughter had an absolute blast!”
